RH has a special philosophy with regard to ergonomics based on the knowledge of how important it is to have the correct posture and movement when sitting down. Correct posture gives better breathing and blood circulation, whilst movement stimulates muscles. 2PP™ technology ensures the body receives plenty of variation whilst avoiding overloading a single pressure point, because the basic setting of the chair is always retained. This means that users feel able to cope with more and can concentrate better which in turn improves performance.
Improved performance as proof of quality

For the chairs to perform better than standard office chairs, RH has developed Ventec™, a unique material used on backs and seats. Ventec™ consists of a combination of natural rubber, horsehair and wool. Studies run by the independent research institute Swerea, show that a chair with this material has a 25% better ability to transport sweat and heat away from the body, and a 15% better ability to transport moisture than other chairs.
Innovative solutions for environmental performance
Ventec is 100% recyclable and biologically degradable. Furthermore, many components are also produced in recyclable materials. The company is certified according to the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and was one of the first office chair manufacturers to become certified in accordance with the international EPD system (Environmental Product Declaration). EPD provides scientifically-based, verified and comparable data on the environmental effects of products in different categories. The declaration is based on lifecycle evaluation of a product and gives quantitative data on its environmental effect.
